Characteristic of PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene: PTFE,  commonly known by the trade name TEFLON, is a plastic having superb properties of heat resistance, smoothness (slipperiness), non-stick, chemical resistance, low friction and excellent electrical insulation (non-conductance).

In addition to heat resistance and chemical resistance, PTFE is also used in automobiles and machine parts due to its low friction coefficient. Low friction PTFE is used for parts used in places where friction occurs, such as automobile transmissions and bearings, because it has the advantage of low friction. With other materials, lubricating oil is always required due to its high coefficient of friction, but PTFE, which is sometimes applied to materials as a lubricant, can be used with confidence.

PTFE sheet, PTFE Plate
The PTFE sheet is formed by compressing molding powder into a plate shape.

PTFE with filler is also available by mixing Teflon molding powder with glass powder, molybdenum disulfide, graphite, Carbon and metallic powder. Each of the material that can be easily machined and processed into various shapes depending on the application

Furthermore, by adding a filler, various effects such as prevention of cold flow, reduction of thermal expansion coefficient, increase of wear resistance, improvement of thermal conductivity are obtained, and it is used as a material for parts of various machinery.

PTFE sheets with excellent heat resistance can be used even in low temperature and high temperature environments that cannot be used with other materials, PTFE sheets even handling highly corrosive chemicals , You don't have to worry about corrosion of other equipment or parts. It is also used as a material for making sheet packings and gaskets to withstand strong acids and strong alkaline solvents, and is also used as a component of electric devices by utilizing electrical insulation.
